I really like how the wine is delivered, all securely well bubble wrapped and within the box more protection to secure the safe delivery of the bottles.
There is information sheets to clip into the folder so you can keep your own personal record of wines, and what dishes that they would compliment best with along with recipes also included.
There is more about the background of the wine and which part of France it came from, and the type of wine you have received and a bulk of information so you are supplied with everything you would like to know about the particular bottle you are drinking.
The three wines that I have received to review are; Laporte Le Bouquet Cabernet Franc 2016, La Boussole Pinot Noir 2016 and Château Les Tours Seguy 2014.
I have first tried Château Les Tours Seguy which is a dry red wine, this has notes of mocha, vanilla and elegant black fruit. Showing a beautiful aromatic range and fine tannins. A very seductive wine for Bordeaux amateurs.
The La Boussole Pinot Noir 2016 is a dry red wine with notes of cherry, redcurrant, vanilla with a minty touch in the background. A third of this wine is matured in oak barrels, this wine is ideal for pairing tartare or carpaccio, and compliments a lamb shank brilliantly!
The Laporte Le Bouquet Cabernet Franc 2016 is also a dry red wine that develops harmonious notes of red fruit, representative of the Loire vineyards. Aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and cherry are nicely balanced with notes of spice. This is a lively, ligjt-bodied red to be enjoyed slightly chilled over a white meat.
My Thoughts
I do love French wine and found a really tasty bottle when I visited the Western side of France and wish I had brought some home with me. So a service like this would be something that could make that possible. I really do recommend this service, knowing from drinking many French wines, they are so nice which such a variety out there, and I can see how why this company was started. It brings a taste of France into our lovely homes.
