Twirlywoos Ravensburger Jigsaw Puzzle

We have received to 2 Jigsaw puzzles to review which are part of Twirlywoos gift guide for Easter 2016. They are both by Ravensburger Puzzle which is a well known brand with fabulous quality items. We have received the 2 boxes of jigsaw puzzles which feature different images of  the Twirlywoos. Twirlywoos is a children’s TV programme which is shown on CBeebies every weekday at 9.35am and 13.35pm featuring the main characters:-  Great BigHoo, Toodloo, Chickedy and Chick. We are big fans in this house so when we first received the puzzles all I could hear from Grace was ‘chick chick chick’ she was eager to open them upon receiving to explore!

First we tried the 16 large chunky pieces jigsaw floor puzzle which is aimed at children age 2+ RRP £5.99
Grace first got them out of the box and decided to spread them over the floor, with a bit of help guiding to start her off we joined the first together and she then started connecting the bright colours looking for ‘blue’ part to connect to the other already connected. We have found them to be a brilliant size for little hands, really bright colours which is great for learning and development and recognising different colours.
With the pieces being chunky and large she found them really easy to pick up slot together when in the right position.

The next box contained 4 different puzzles ranging from 2 piece to 5 pieces per puzzle suitable for chuldren 18 months+ RRP £8.99.
Once again they were all chunky for little hands to grasp.
Each jigsaw in the set has a different character on from the TV series and also different coloured backgrounds i.e. purple, yellow, blue and green. So we first started by emptying them all and as she is at the stage at learning her colours so I asked her to find the purple coloured pieces, and she found all the pieces with the purple background, to my surprise she managed to match all the 4 colours, when we had them all in their own separate piles Grace then began to join the pieces together, with a bit of help and a very excited little girl after she was made up with her completed set of Twirly Woos that she had made she had to show her big brother Jake!

I have found in the past that the jigsaw puzzles that we have bought are not as chunky and are really thin so keep un-clipping from each other and over time the thin pieces have tended to curl a little so now they aren’t that good for clipping together as they just keep detaching. So with these being larger chunky pieces they do suit perfectly for a 2 year old and even Jake who is 5 has had a good time playing with them and we know that these will last for a long time as they are really good thick quality.
