Trip to Tynemouth

Mummy E & I decided to have a trip to Tynemouth, which is on the North East coast of England; we caught the bus to South Shields & then the ferry across to North Shields. Jake loves the ferry & was excited about being on it. The port in South Shields is actually where we took him on his first ever day out after he was born with Nanna Jane & Granddad Al.

From the ferry port we walked over the Tynemouth & decided to go to King Edwards Bay as the beach there is really lovely. It’s just a little beach, but it is the closest & as Jake had to walk we didn’t want to over tire him before we got there.

We spent about three quarter of an hour on the beach & made the long walk back to the ferry.

We left home at 3pm & didn’t return until 6:30pm. Gong by public transport really does take a lot longer than if you just drive yourself there.

We had just missed the ferry back over to South Shields so had to wait 30 minutes for the next one, then further 20 minutes for the bus.

Luckily we had stopped at the local fish & chip shop in Tynemouth called Oceans & treated ourselves to dinner out. Jake didn’t want fish, even though it is the freshest fish around, but had chicken nuggets & chips. Baby Grace & Logan just had food from our plates, as they are way to young to need a meal of their own.

The weather was gorgeous & sunny, but with a cool wind when we was on the ferry, so I made sure everyone kept their sun screen topped up & the children all had hats on to protect them.

We had a lovely ice cream treat to cool us off too.

When we got back home Jake wanted to play out with his little friends in the garden, whilst I got Grace out of her pram. He told them he was just going to sit down & have a rest, when I went to get him in, a couple of minutes later, he was fast asleep on the lawn. One tired out, but happy little boy.
