4 time-saving items for new parents
Although you may not think it is possible as a new mum, there are ways to gain some well-deserved, extra time in the day.
Perhaps you have a little one on the way, or maybe you’re looking to make your days that little bit more streamlined. Either way, take a look at the latest must-have items for new mums:
Thermometer dummy
When your little one is poorly, it can be tough to keep an eye on them and monitor their temperature – especially when they’re wriggling out of your arms. A smart dummy could be the answer to this problem.
This device is a dummy with a built-in thermometer for an easier way to check your child’s temperature. Some even have a built-in fever alarm which will create a sound if your baby’s temperature gets too high.
Toy storage bag
It’s wonderful when your little one gets to the age where they’re able to play and interact with all of their toys. However, it can be hard to find the time to clean up after them and it could be the right time for you to invest in a toy storage bag.
These bags are available in a variety of sizes to suit you and can be bought from sites such as Amazon. They work by holding all of your children’s toys in one drawstring bag. When they want to play with them, simply loosen the drawstring and the bag transforms into a play mat, meaning your children can play without scattering their toys across the room and your tidy time is reduced!
Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine
Any device that can make those 2am night feeds any easier should be welcomed with open arms. Tommee Tippee’s Perfect Prep Machine can help you prepare your baby’s formula in just two minutes!
Available to purchase from Smyths Toys and other retailers, this device can help reduce the time taken to prepare bottles in the night so you can spend it catching up on some sleep instead. The machine has a built-in filter to remove impurities from water, while the Perfect Prep’s initial hot shot kills the bacteria that may be present in the formula. It works with any powered milk formula, helping to prevent any bottle-making mishaps in the early hours. You’ll still need to sterilise the bottles, but the Perfect Prep machine works to make your to-do list a little shorter!
Mamaroo Infant Seat
Getting your baby to nod off can be a difficult task in itself, from driving them around the block to rocking them until your arms ache – it gets tiresome. But it doesn’t have to be, the Mamaroo Infant Seat can be helpful.
This device allows you to choose from five motions; car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, rock-a-bye and ocean – each carefully designed to rock your baby to sleep. Each motion mimics parental movement, so they can get back to sleep easily. The seat is available to buy from Mothercare and other good retailers.

A great list for parents-to be – my niece used the prep machine and found it so useful
The perfect prep looks amazing. Wish they had that when my kids were little
Love the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine perfect for night time
I like the idea of the thermometer dummy as when my children are ill they hate the thermometer under their armpit/tongue, even if Megan who’s 5 would look silly with a dummy it would save a lot of upset when she’s ill , I had a dummy that you could put calpol in when Connor was a baby 13 years ago which I can’t find to buy for Mollie who hates taking medicine, and the mamaroo infant seat would have been perfect for my Mollie who’s 7 months today when she was newborn xXx
A great way to keep our LITTLE ones safe and comfortable
Great post
