The Hairdresser Jigsaw puzzle by Ravensburger
Ravensburger offer a large variety of jigsaws to suit young and not so young, everyone loves to do a jigsaw and it is a perfect match if you are wanting a bit of ‘me time’.
I have been sent ‘The Hairdresser’ jigsaw puzzle for me to review, and it came at perfect timing, jut when I felt I needed a bit of ‘me time’ after the kids had been on their Easter Holidays. The Hairdresser jigsaw has 500 pieces which is a great size if you are wanting it done in a day or two, Ravensburger also make jigsaws with more pieces if you are really up for a challenge!
I started by separating the outside edge pieces and connected them together first to give me the outline I needed.
Next I started by finding the most distinctive pieces, the car and buildings out the window, photo frames on the wall, hair drier, purple spray cans and lady in green.
After finding and connecting these parts my jigsaw was beginning to take shape!
The Hairdresser Ravensburger jigsaw is the 14th in a series of nostalgic puzzles looking back at jobs and professions, created by Yorkshire-based artist Trevor Mitchell.
The lady’s elaborate “up do” means she’s going somewhere very grand; those curls are surely the result of hours in rollers! The customers behind her take their turn under the dryers, whilst above them the posters on the wall capture the most fashionable styles of the day – including one that looks similar to Twiggy’s boyish cut, created in 1965 by Leonard of Mayfair.
This jigsaw shows ladies in a salon getting their hair done. The cheerful colours and plentiful detail gives much to enjoy as assembling the scene from days gone by.
Here we have the final master peace if I do say so myself! The jigsaw took me approximately about 5 hours in total to complete over two days.
I love Ravensburger jigsaws, they are always fantastic quality and a brand that over time I have found to be fantastic quality and stand above others. Their jigsaws are made from strong premium grade cardboard, with linen finish print to minimise glare on puzzle image. Ravensburger also have over 100 years’ worth of experience in the manufacture of puzzles. Not only do they make the best selection of puzzles, but also pride themselves on having the highest quality. Individual pieces are stamped with such precision that a quiet “click” can be heard when one piece is inserted in the other – this phenomenon is so unique that they have given it its own name ‘Soft click Technology.’
The puzzles are made using unique punching templates and punching tools, which are hand-crafted with watchmaker precision to ensure the greatest possible accuracy and variety of the puzzle pieces. I have really enjoyed this puzzle and
