Splashy the Whale
We have received Splashy the Whale game to review from John Adams
The electronic squirting, skill & action game!
”Splashy the friendly whale likes to eat anything he finds out at sea. His mouth is full of all kinds of flotsam and jetsam – fish bones, life preservers, anchors and even a submarine!
Can you help to remove these objects as Splashy bobs up and down on the ocean waves?
Carefully hook an object with the fishing rod, but if you tickle the whales tongue, you had better watch out… Splashy will squirt you with water!”
We received Splashy the Whale game to review and as soon as I had opened the delivery box, Jake was so excited as he had seen Splashy the Whale advertised on TV, he then told me all about how we play the game, before the box was even opened!
The game required 3x AA batteries so we inserted them easily underneath, then I filled the water tank which was covered by a plug which is simply put back securely into place when filled.
The fishing rod is a curved design to enable you to hook the pieces from underneath the whales tongue, but you’ve got to be careful when lifting the piece out as if it catches Splashy’s tongue he will spray water at you!
Next step was for me to empty the contents of the whales findings into its mouth and insert the fishing rod into place, then we began to play!
Youngest child always plays first so we let Grace go, she got one out straight away! You place Splashy in front of you whilst you take your turn so if you do catch his tongue, he will squirt you!
The pieces in the Splashy’s mouth are worth different point, the one who gets the most points at the end of the game is the winner. Throughout the game we try to get the higher point items, but sometimes you just have to go for the fish bones, which are worth one point, as the other pieces can be harder to get and we wouldn’t want to disturb Splashy for us to end up getting wet!
This game is so much fun, especially when you don’t know that he squirts water! We had visitors who came and Jake and Grace asked them to play and the unexpected squirts made everyone laugh. I myself have gotten squirted a few times as well, which the children found hilarious!
We absolutely love this game and have all agreed that it is an excellent family fun game to have.
Splashy the Whale is suited for 2+ players and aimed at ages 4 and upwards, Grace has just turned 3 and she really enjoyed this game too. so I would say it could be suitable for her age also. but just be careful due to small parts.
Available to buy here on Amazon for £15.67.
This would make an excellent Christmas or birthday present. Jake, who is 6, absolutely loves this game and keeps asking to play it every day after school.
