As a family as a whole we all love cheese. So when we are asked to review some truckles from the Snowdonia Cheese Company, you can bet we said YES!

Award Winning Cheese

Snowdonia Cheese Company started the year with celebrations as their iconic Black Bomber was voted the number one cheese brand for the fourth time in five years

This accolade follows on from a successful 2018.  When awarded a Gold for Black Bomber and Silver for Red Storm,  vintage Red Leicester, at the 2018 International Cheese Awards.

Speaking about their most recent win, Managing Director, John Newton-Jones said, “We’re absolutely delighted to be voted number one cheese brand for the fourth time. We work hard to ensure our range of cheeses is crafted with care and expertise using the finest ingredients, so it’s a pleasure to have our products acknowledged by so many industry experts.”

What an achievement, with all these awards my expectations were already high. The quality and general whole look  as a brand is pretty perfect, giving you class and sophistication for each cheese.

I bought a lovely cheeseboard cracker selection to compliment the cheese, from a variety poppy pepper water, wholenut stone ground, wheat and linseed, sweet wheat, multigrain and rosemary flavoured.

The Red Storm Vintage Red Leicester

The Red Storm Vintage Red Leicester went down an absolute treat, the creaminess and bold flavours were incredible. This particular cheese paired perfectly with the rosemary flavoured cracker, the flavour was sweet with a strong complex flavour.

Black Bomber Extra Mature Cheddar

Snowdonia Cheese review by Family Clan

The Black Bomber Extra Mature Cheddar is creamy & smooth and with it being extra mature it has depths of flavour. Savoured amazing and paired really well with poppy pepper water cracker.

I can’t pick a favourite, equally they were both amazing boasting their own special flavours.

The high quality of the product would not sit out of place in a luxury section. Cheese at it’s best and I really would recommend them for special occasion. Perhaps a perfect choice for Mum this Mother’s Day, pair up with some wine for the ultimate gift!
