How to to play Smart Ass
The oldest Smart Ass player is the Reader (Player 1) and asks the first question. Player 1 rolls the Jumbo Category Die to determine the category of the first question. Blue is What Am I? Green is Where Am I? and Orange is Who Am I?.
Player 1 selects a question card from the category that was rolled. The Question Card lists 8 clues. Player 1 begins to read the first clue. Any player can yell out an answer at any time and after an clue (players do not need to wait for the Reader to finish reading out all the clues). However, each player gets only one try at answering each card. all the players who provide incorrect answers are out of that round and cannot try to answer the question again.
The Reader continues to read the clues until one of the players answers the question correctly. The player that answers correctly then rolls the Jumbo Movement Die and moves their playing piece forward the number of spaces rolled.
If no player answers the question correctly after the last clue is given, then the Reader wins the round, rolls the Jumbo Movement Die and move their Playing Piece forward the number of spaces rolled. Play passes to the left with the player to Player 1’s left becoming the Reader.
The board consists of penalty spaces making you miss a turn, kick ass spaces which could move you back on the game board or there is also bonus question spaces allowing you to advance more into the game by answering a Hard Ass question.
To win the game the first player to land on ‘The End’ is declared the winner and becomes the ultimate Smart Ass.
Me and Daddy J played Smart Ass once Jake and Grace had gone to bed as we knew it was for 12+, although I think Jake would enjoy this game, or at least love to be the Reader for us whilst we both guessed the answers. We both enjoyed it, but Daddy J won as he has much more knowledge of the world than I do! Smart Ass would be great for parties or get-togethers, allowing all the family to have some good quality time together.
Smart Ass is for 2 to 8 players and available to purchase from Amazon.
