SET Card Game
The family game with visual perception
The Cards
The cards can have one of three symbols on it, diamond, squiggle or oval and a variety of three different shading, the shapes can be empty, shaded or full.
How Do You Play SET?
You start off by mixing all the cards up and then dealing 12 out on to the table. Players don’t take turns as in the normal sense of the word, but if any player sees a set they shout “SET” and all the other players must cease playing.
The caller must immediately pick the cards in their set up. You cannot call and play for time. When a “SET” is removed from the table three other cards are dealt in their place, until all cards are selected or no more sets are available.
What Is or Isn’t a SET?
This is a SET as they all have three symbols on and are all shaded the same,
But this isn’t, as two of the shapes are diamonds that are purple but shaded differently. If the red squiggle with no shading was there then that would be a set.
The winner is the player with the most “SET”‘s once the game has ended and all cards are used that can be. SET is suitable for ages 6 to adult and 1-8 players.
Our Thoughts
It was myself, my partner and my 6 year old daughter Olivia who played it this game for games night, we tend to have games night every third weekend. Olivia found it a little tricky at first but a bit more practice and I’m sure she will be spotting the sets in no time before us!
We intend to play this again next games night, I am sure as we do the game will come easier to spot the SET’s but still challenging. Games last between 15 – 20 minutes so a few games can be got through on a night.
SET can be purchased from Amazon and all good toy stockists.

I love card games and that this is something that the whole family can play is great!
How lovely that you have a family games night. Our eldest would enjoy this. I like the fact that it is a bit different.
I like the idea of not having turns, that sounds fun! Thanks for the review.
I think this is something the girls would like and could play with grandad as well
We have this already – can thoroughly recommend too – the boys love it
