REAL GOOD KETCHUP
We all love sauce, my kids especially love tomato ketchup on pretty much all their meals. I often jazz up their plates with heart shaped patterns or the first letter of their name. Making meal times a bit more fun!
The salt and sugar in them hasn’t ever been such a concern to me as its just ‘tomato ketchup’ right? How can tomato be bad? But really looking into the stats I was stunned by the these.
A standard Heinz Tomato Ketchup per 100g has:-
22.8g of sugar
1.8g of saltWhereas the Real Good Ketchup per 100g has
5.7g
0.32g
The stats are quite surprising, to see that the Real Good Ketchup has pretty much quarter of salt and sugars within.
Real Good Ketchup comes in two flavours, Smokey BBQ and Tomato. They are made with natural plant-based ingredients. My two children have really enjoyed these, and it’s no surprise as the tomato ketchup is award winning too!
With only naturally occurring sugars, we are a better starting place to reduce sugar intake knowing there is no compromise on quality or your well-being
Allergen free is in their DNA, they never use ingredients that fall into the 14 allergens list and are proud to be the recipient of a Gold Free From Award and the Food Talk Clean Eating Award 2018. They are also GMO & preservative free and also made in a nut free environment.
Our Thoughts
I actually swapped our standard Heinz Ketchup to Real Good Ketchup at tea time to see if Jake and Grace would notice the difference, if you have kids that are a bit unsure to try things new then you would understand that just chucking it on the plate and saying nothing is the best way forward.
I asked them, after them after they had licked their plate clean, what they thought, they just said it tasted more tomato-ey!

Real…GOOD – Real tasty – id recommend to all too –
I’m always looking for low sugar alternatives. This looks good.
I love the fact that it’s natural as it’s plant based, but the sceptic in me does wonder about how much such natural sweetners have been looked at properly – for health, and for environmental sustainability.
And sugar is natural too, remember. A thinking point.
Mmm i do love my ketchup and I like the sound of the smokey bbq!
They look good and I wonder whether they are as good as the traditional sauces!
