Puppy Dog Love – Crochet Fun
You may remember in October I made a crochet kitten for Chloes’ Birthday, I decide to make Nanna D a puppy dog from the same pattern.
It’s such an easy pattern to make, three main pieces, These are the head, front legs, body with back legs, then just two little ears. Nanna D isn’t really into cats or kittens, so I decided to make the pattern a puppy dog instead.
You wouldn’t believe the trouble I had with the tail. It either looked rude or just plain wrong. Mummy H cam up with the idea of doing this style tail and I love it.
I just changed the two kitten ears to longer floppy ones. I tacked these down to the side of the head as they didn’t look right before hand. Because they are little they stuck up at a weird angle. Just didn’t look right.
I got the original pattern from the Amigurumi Today website via Ravelry. He measures 7 x 4 inches or 10 x 16 cms – so a real cutie
Adding a few little satin ribbon roses above it’s right ear just seemed a cute option and looks great.
I really made this because like most people I am not going anywhere at the moment and just wanted to let my Mum know that I love her very much and am still thinking of her. Even though we talk numerous times a day, I thought this would be nice little gift for her to receive. Also a lovely surprise.

It’s a great easy, little project that comes off the hook really quickly and uses scrap yarn. I’m thinking of making a few extra one for some certain Princesses Christmas boxes – shhh don’t tell anyone!
You can make them in any colour really as hey who knows they isn’t a rainbow coloured kitten or puppy dog out there!
Are you making homemade gifts this Christmas. I love receiving gifts that someone has actually thought of me when they are making them. I love making them too, as I think of the recipient when I’m creating the gift.
What’s on your needles or hooks?

Well done Laura. Glad you have joined in the crafting life.
I’ve just knitted my first pair of fingerless gloves on double pointed needles. xxJane
This is super cute and definitely something my nan would actually enjoy as she is obviously spending a lot of time on her own. She loves making things.
Started one but im all. Fingers and thumbs !! Hopefully I’LL get better with practical
A very sweet and quick project. Adding a little catnip to the stuffing, and stitching the eyes, would make this a super gift for a cat. Recently, I have been giving my wool to those more skilled than me!
What a fantastic little project I am teaching myself crochet and enjoying what I do .
This looks great – wish I was more creative but I am hopeless at things like this!
Adorable – seem to have lost my motivation to crochet /knit – you are inspiring me to start
Aww so cute, my mum showed me how to crochet when I was younger but haven’t done it for years, knitting on the other hand was definitely not for me, couldn’t get to grips with it without losing it off the needles xx
