New Glasses – Sunday Snap 2nd August 2020
Wow, its August already where has that gone!
This week we have braved the shopping centre to head to our local opticians for Jake’s yearly eye test.
It was all a very strange and a new experience for the kids to be out at the shopping centre for the first time since very early this year. Everyone wearing face coverings, one way systems, hand sanitizing. What a difference a year makes!
Jake and Grace both were very good and took to it as ‘the normal’ although I was asked a few times why there was lines taped out onto the floors.
Jake’s eyes were pretty good, and his right eye has improved slightly too.
Picking new glasses
So now we get to the fun part, being able to choose a new pair of glasses.
We used to be able to choose two pairs from Specsavers, but this year it is just the one.
Jake loves the colour orange, so when asked by the Optician what type is he after, Jake just said orange! So incredibly, the Optician said he had a couple of pairs out the back that were orange, and he came back with this pair, and another. These were an instant hit with Jake!
They look super stylish, and very gamer like. With black at the front and orange trim all the way around Jake was super happy with these!
To finish our brief trip to the local shopping centre, I decided to treat Jake and Grace to their first McDonalds’ since lockdown. They were super happy and demolished the food, Jake even got an Oreo ice cream for desert, yummy!
We went to the opticians on Friday and since then, they both keep telling me that it was amazing! So glad they enjoyed it.
Where are you hoping to dine to at your next adventure since lockdown has eased?
I’m looking forward to going for a lovely carvery with the family with Nanna Jane and Grandad Al come to visit.

My local Specsavers is fab with children, he looks fantastic in his glasses xx
Specsavers always have a great selection and low prices
Those glasses look great. I think since lockdown ended, all of us, kids included, now look forward to going out even for errands that would previously been considered a bit of a chore.
He looks great! I have my glasses from Specsavers. There’s a great range for children!
Thanks, he has to choose from the adults section has been for the past 3 years. He was gutted when he couldn’t get the kids cases, haha
