Knit Picks Options Interchangeable Knitting Needles.

You may remember last Valentines Day Grandad Al bought me a set of Tunisian Crochet Hooks you can read that here, well this year he has bought me a set of interchangable knitting needles. They have only just arrived but I didn’t mind waiting.

I’ve tried and tried to use double pointed knitting needles or DPN’s, but either stitches fell off the back or I had a big gap where the joining should looks so neat. So when husband asked me what I would like for Valentines Day I asked for a set of these.

As you know I crochet quite a lot but I am also a knitter, haven’t done much really not since Olivia was born and I made her a pram blanket. I really wanted to get back into it. So I am super chuffed with these.

What Do You Get?

The pairs of needles come in sizes 3.5, 3.75, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 8.0 mm or in US sizes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5, and 11. They all have their sizes etched on and are nickel plated.

You also get 4 cords, two cables each in both 24″ and 32″ lengths, eight end caps and two cable keys. All safely enclosed in a clear plastic wallet, with one pocket on the front for the needles and two equal sized pockets on the reverse.

The end caps are for when you need to leave your needles for yet another project but you are already using them. You just remove needles and screw on the end caps and “voila” your needles are free but your knitting work is safe and secure on the cord.

You also get a cable or tightening key that slips into a little hole so you can use it as leverage to tighten either the needles or end cap.

He also purchased me a smaller cord and some cable connectors as I really want to make some little hats and also a to “attempt” to make a shawl and with a couple of these cables joined together it will be a lot easy to manage. They are from Knit Pro but I think they are the same brand as they fit perfectly.

I can’t wait to start using them and have plans to start with a beanie style hat. I’ll let you know how I go on. Have you tried DPN’s or circular needles? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I really am loving using them Margaret. They are so easy to knit with and only two ends to sew in with no joining! xx
