My Living World Instant Flower Press
Spring is finally here, and we know summer will be just around the corner as the weather improves. Flowers start to bloom and if you have children you know that they love to pick flowers and give you them as a gesture of ‘I love you’.
My two children have already been spotting signs of spring, daffodils blooming, daisies are now well and truly in my garden and we have tiny little finches visiting in the garden.
Grace loves to pick the most biggest daisies for me out my garden and bring them in for me.
It truly is a shame that they are picked to eventually die, but what if you could keep these flowers like we used to keep them flattened within the pages of a book.
My Mum and Dad have kept a flower from over 30 years ago in a frame from when they first started dating. This is a good way at keeping special flowers visible and memories from that time to last.
Just check out this My Living World Instant Flower Press from Interplay. Using this you can press and dry flowers in just a few seconds by using a microwave and their flower press.
Contents of the box:-
Instructions
2-part flower press
2 hinge pins
4 felt pads
2 cotton pads
How to use the Instant Flower Press?
First things first and most importantly, pick the special flowers or foilage you would like to use.
Then we needed to open the Flower Press by removing just one of the hinge pins.
Now we needed to place two of the felt pads squarely onto the bottom section followed by a cotton sheet.
Grace placed her first large flower she picked on top of the cotton sheet.
Next covered the flowers with the other cotton sheet, follow by two felt pads then using the remaining pin we sealed our flower press.
We then needed to place this within the microwave with 1/2 a cup of cold water, setting for 20 seconds.
Once cooled, we then removed the press from the microwave. Grace was so excited to see how her flowers turned out!
At this moment if the flower still seem damp, repeat in the microwave for a further 20 seconds. We did this as this was a larger flower, but with small daisies 20 seconds was enough.
Grace was so surprised at how this worked, we then carefully removed our flower from the press and repeated the process with her freshly picked daisies.
Replacing it within the microwave for 20 seconds, our daisies were pressed in no time.
Getting crafty with the Instant Flower Press
Now this is where you can get super crafty. Why not make a Mothers Day card by using your dried flowers for crafting, such a great idea with Mothers Day fast approaching this will make the most perfect card to give Mum.
Grace wanted to make her great Nanna (Nanna Doll) a special picture as she has been poorly recently.
Hard at work she chose some yellow card, drawn a flower that she used red glitter glue. Drew a picture of Nanna Doll wearing headphones (as you do) and using glue she placed her flowers beautifully into position.
We are going to post this to Nanna Doll tomorrow, we know this will make her feel better.
