My lovely old cat is called Ember – we adopted her from an animal shelter 13 years ago and she came with that name so decided to keep it.

  2. Angie

I would call my cat Figaro, named after the kitten from Pinocchio

  3. Ruth Harwood

We got two kittens 4 years ago, called Cinnamon and Calypso, sadly, last August, we lost Calypso (named by me) to poison she’d ingested on her travels, and I had to sit and watch her die for 48 hours and she died in my arms, Cinnamon is still with us, and my son named her, she suits it, and I call her my Sunny Princess Cinnamon. If I adopted another cat, I’d call her Chryseis, from Homer, just like Calypso was named after a goddess in the Odyssey, Chryseis is a name of a priestess in the Iliad xx

We have four cats. Tigger because of her colour, Tinkerbell because she’s like a little fairy! Socks because of her white sock pattern and Blue, because I used to sing little boy Blue to him as a kitten. He’s now upgraded to Blue Bear as he has got so big xx

My two cats names are Gomez and Morticia

We have a long family tradition of calling cats Sammy, mainly because when our first daughter was tiny, “sammy” was the word she used for “cat”. She’s in her 40s now and there have been several Sammys in her life!
