Firemen paying us a visit

A few days ago Mummy E witnessed a house on fire which was right next to her house.

The fire had taken place at day time, luckily no one was hurt nor at home.

So yesterday the lovely local fire men went door-to-door around the area to make sure everyone’s fire alarms were working correctly, they also completed a survey to keep each house up to date on their system to make sure every electrical thing is reported.

They also asked if we knew what to do in the case of a house fire, which I honestly thought I knew, presuming you just grab children and leave, but they had advised the best way to deal with a fire is to all go in one bedroom away from the fire and block the doors from smoke.

Definitely a life lesson learnt today!

Do you know if your fire alarms are working correctly and would you know what to do in the case of a house fire? If the answer is NO, get them checked!

Ours are working ! My sister had a house fire many years ago – luckily all the family were okay – they jumped out the window – brken bones but all physically well
Makes me extra cautious as eveything they possessed was burnt
