Okay I’m going to say it. The festive season will soon be upon us and that mean’s PARTIES! We all like our men to brush up and look good when we are on a night out, whether it be with friends or for work.
If you are going to a more formal event for Christmas or, perhaps New Year, then Dobell have to be the first stop for all his needs. Whether that be a pocket square or the whole dinner suit. The quality of their products are fantastic as we’ve had a couple of things now and have not been disappointed.
Dobell even do morning suits if you are going to a wedding, Masonic outfits for those that do. Grand Dad Al chose a new cummerbund and pre-tied bow tie in the colour burgundy. I’m certain it will look fantastic with his dinner suit for those special occasions. The last time we had a chance to dress up was in May when our eldest daughter MJ got married. It was a black tie wedding and he looked so handsome, Dobell would be a perfect option for wedding suits and accessories for any man.
The Cummerbund
The cummerbund has an adjustable elastic round the back of the waist, so you can fit it for comfort and three pleats down the front.
Did you know the cummerbund or kamarband is an Asian-origin garment which was first adopted by British military officers in colonial India when they were exposed to Indian men wearing it. The pleats should be worn upwards. Grand Dad Al says this is to catch the crumbs! They should be worn at the natural waist. This means that the trousers should be worn around the level of the navel, and half the cummerbund should cover the shirt, and the other half the trousers.
The Bow Tie is a self tie, meaning it is already tied for you with a band of the same fabric the goes around the neck or collar of the shirt. This band is fully adjustable with a clasp and a small length of elastic just to give the wearer a more secure fit.Dobell have a wide range of colour from black to a great Union Jack flag design. I love the Union Jack flag design and if I was a man I’d wear it, but it is just not Grand Dad Al’s style.
You may remember when we reviewed Dobell in the past that Daddy J chose a pair of black and white chequered braces. He loves wearing these when going to a Ska music gig.
What would you or the man in your life choose from the Dobell website?
