Banana Split Day
I’ve decided to honour National Day’s Not Saints days or but all the odd, weird, funny National Days we hear about on the web.
So today is #NationalDay of the Banana Split
Now you may think I’m going to talk about one of these,
But I remember a different Banana Splits, these guys,

They used to invade our tv every Saturday Morning, remember
The Tra La La Song (One Banana, Two Banana)
Each show was a meeting of the “Banana Splits Club”, it was silly zany & aimed right at me! It had slapstick fun, cartoons including Arabian Knights and The Three Musketeers. It was started in 1967 after William Hanna and Joseph Barbera approached the Krofft Brothers to design costumes for a television show which would feature animated and live-action segments. It first aired on 7th September 1968.
The characters were Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper, Snorky. Loosely based on the Beatles & the American put together band called The Monkees. It ran until September 5, 1970, but due to repeats, I remember it running a little later.
It was a great Saturday, in your Pj’s, Morning Program.
Do you remember this programme? What was your favourite bit?
Have you entered our competition yet? What are you waiting, for as it ends very soon. Competition
Could celebrate this one everyday
Delicious
One of my favourite desserts. We occasionally go out for lunch in a pud near my Mums & we always have a banana split for dessert, they add nuts, chocolate sprinkles, strawberry sauce, lots of whipped cream and even mini marshmallows. It is a good job we only go there occasionally! xx Jane
