Bamboo Crochet Hook Surprise
Granddad Al had a lovely surprise for me, he had bought me a set of bamboo crochet hooks, they are lovely & smooth, and so light to use.
I’ve only used them to make a sample so far but I love them. They are true to the size of my aluminum metal hooks, my first set is here.
They come in sizes 3 mm, 3.5 mm, 4 mm, 4.5 mm, 5 mm, 5.5 mm, 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 8 mm, 9mm and 10 mm, it’s imprinted on the handle. a super nice wide range. It’s lovely to have some of the large sizes, means I will have to buy some chunky thick wool 😉
I’ve seen someone on the internet, YouTube, a few months ago, had dyed theirs different colours, but I can’t remember who or what with, typically. I was thinking try food colouring, but I’m worried it will run onto my wool if my hands get a bit hot & sweaty with it coming summer. I could perhaps paint them then varnish them, hmmm, thinking out loud here.
Going to have to plan a trip to our local town to go to my favourite yarn shop. Wonder what I should make, something for the grand children as usual, but what.
Any suggestions anyone?
