Back To Hogwarts with Harry Potter

Back To Hogwarts

Back to Hogwarts

The 1st of September is a momentous day in the wizarding world calendar: this is the day the Hogwarts students return for a new term, catch the Hogwarts Express, while the first-years discover the castle for the first time. Though this year may look a bit different than in the past, the time has arrived to pack your trunk, ready your school supplies and prepare to go Back to Hogwarts – virtually!

Every year hundreds of Harry Potter fans gather at King’s Cross Station in London for the Back to Hogwarts Day celebrations.

But this year they’re being asked to stay at home instead. The event, which takes place on 1 September, marks the books’ famous departure of the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9 ¾. Fans usually come together and wave their wands at exactly 11am.

However, because of lockdown rules and the Coronavirus, this year’s Back to Hogwarts event will be a bit different.

Instead of a physical gathering, people are being encouraged to take part in a free virtual event.

Preparing for Back To School  Hogwarts

There is a strange feeling about kids going back to school after spending so long at home. Where six weeks holidays has been six months instead.

Jake and Grace were due to go back to school also on the 1st of September, but we have now found ourselves as a household self isolating. So our return to school will be held off for another week or so.

They were quite excited to find out that they were going back to school the same day Harry started too.

But when we can, we are set and ready to go back to school with thee great selection of Harry Potter merchandise

Back To Hogwarts Treat Box

I had been putting off back to school items as long as I could, not really sure what would happen come September, but the weeks approached and I started to get uniform shopping in but left accessories for the last minute, and then luckily a fantastic treat box arrived to get us excited to get Back To Hogwarts.

We were absolutely thrilled at what we received. Jake and Grace were so happy!

Just look at the fantastic merchandise that is available for your children (or yourself) to get them back to school looking very up to trend with the Harry Potter products.

Lunchbox & Bottle

The Harry Potter lunchbox is a perfect size for the return to school, perfect for filling with your chocolate frogs, sherbet lemon, perhaps one of Hagrid’s rockcakes or why not try a selection of pumpkin pasties.

There is also a Harry Potter bottle which does also fit inside the lunchbox. Butterbeer anyone?

Harry Potter House Backpack

So whether you are a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or Ravenclaw fear not, now you can have you very own backpack suited perfectly to your house.

Just check out this great range of backpacks available from the Asda website, with leather straps at the back. This bag is such good quality I am so impressed.

Dare I say I want this bag! It’s gorgeous, but Jake will be using his bag this year for swimming and PE sessions. So we know that it will have its good use, and for just £14 each I think it is a fantastic price for a high quality bag that is right in trend.

This Harry Potter stationary pouch is a perfect little pick up, for just £2 this will set any Potter fan steaming ahead. With Jake going into year 5, I’m pretty sure he would be needing his own set so this will be a welcome and well used set over the year I’m sure.

I’m rather quite jealous that all this merchandise is getting better and better over the years, what I would have give to have these when I was a teen.

The icing on the cake, has got to be these fantastic Harry Potter dress up from Rubies. Just such great quality, and look just like the real robes. (Wand and wand pen (Paladone)  are not included in these sets, these are our own)

Grace loved dressing up as Hermionie Granger.

Jake also used the adults costume to do a duel with Grace, for Grace to come laughing out with ‘Ex Smelly Armits’ which left us all laughing.

Hedwig Lego Set

If anything like me, you know the kids have been absolutely great over the last 6 months, adjusting to a completely different life that none of us have experienced before and taking it all in their stride. Then why not treat them to this absolutely amazing Hedwig Lego set.

With a wingspan of over 13” (34cm), this 630-piece brick-build model shows Hedwig in flight, delivering an important letter. Once the build is complete, a turn of a handle causes the jointed wings to move gracefully up and down.

The collectable model stands on a sturdy base with a detachable LEGO Harry Potter mini-figure and another, smaller, Hedwig the owl toy with wings spread open.

Harry Potter Magical Capsule

Harry Potter Magical Capsules from KAPTOYS. With 10 characters to collect who will you reveal?

With blind bags and clues as you un box, the fun keeps going on!

We were sent this treat box just in time for the Return to Hogwarts for ourselves and Harry Potter.

One thing I am looking forward to getting into our old routine, and back into reading Harry Potter with the kids before bed. We are up to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and loving the family time.
