Zippo Hand Warmer and Review

Zippo Hand Warmer Review

Zippo Hand Warmer Review

Zippo Hand Warmer: First thoughts are that it is a nice little item and fits perfectly in the hand and not heavy at all. The hand warmer comes in a little compact box which includes hand warmer, little plastic cup which is like a miniature oil can, and material cover to slot the warmer in to. Once lit it will last for up to 12 hours which we all know is great and especially for winter!

My process for starting it was:- I removed the lid then the catalytic burner. Then a little tricky part was adding the lighter fluid into the little ‘Filling Cup’ , the mini oil can,  you then pour that into the top of the burner. I had to make sure that I kept it upright at all times.  Pop the top back on to cover. I left it for 2 minutes as the instructions said.

After the 2 minutes was up, whilst the lid was still off, I used a normal lighter to start the process and held it for about 10 seconds to make sure it was perfectly set. The hand warmer is heated by a catalytic process and no flame is visible after ignition. Once it was ignited I put the lid back on and put it in the little fabric bag that was supplied and this kept it at a lovely temperature and made sure that it wasn’t too hot for me to touch. I used a half measure of the lighter fluid and got around 6 to 7 hours of heat from it.

What a really cool gadget, as I have only ever used hot water bottles or the heat packs in that past which would on average only last about 2 hours, I think that the Zippo Hand Warmer is a brilliant idea and even better that they last for up to 12 hours! They will suit a wide range of people from simple, school runs Mums & Dads like me to those taking long walks & camping. They will be great especially with the cold weather fast approaching, it really doesn’t take that long to set it up, which is great for a busy mam like me.

They are available from Zippo starting at £20.75, in a range of different colours, there is bound to be one to suit you. They would make a fantastic Christmas present for a family member or friend who work, travels or just loves the outdoors.

  1. All the time in winter, my hands get absolutely freezing! It’d be great for walking to work and even events like bonfire night when you have to stand outside in the cold!

  2. I would use the Zippo Hand Warmer when I go out on my Mobility scooter, it gets cold & having soemthing to warm my hands in between driving along would be bliss!

  3. A close friend of mine loves to go for long walks, so this would make a handy gift for her to use during the winter months.

  4. I would like to use this at home when it gets a bit nippy. But I would love to take it with me when I’m out and about, especially to and from work. I have to take the bus nearly everyday and so it can get extremely cold whilst I’m waiting for the next bus to arrive.

  5. I go out walking all year round in all weathers and in some pretty challenging places, so have had plenty of times where my hands have been frozen despite gloves and mittens! I’d love one of these!

  6. The camping season is pretty much over for this year but it would be great for chilly nights round the camp fire. At this time of year it would be great for standing out side watching firework displays and weekend country walks.

  7. My daughter runs a craft stall (West Art & Glass) and I will give it to her so she can be a little warmer during the winter fayres.

  8. I’d use it ‘in the bleak mid-winter when frosty winds do blow’ basically any time I leave the house from now to May !!

  9. This would be brilliant- my hands are always FREEZING! I would use it on our winter walks and family trips to the park. Cheers!

  10. My kids to Dartmoor walking in preparation for Ten Tors so it would I imagine be very nice when they are freezing in a tent.

  11. I recently quit smoking (Or more honestly, I started vaping instead) but I still carry my zippo with me everywhere I go. I like to play with it in my pocket. I would simply substitute it for this.

  12. I will use it each time I have to take the dog outside and wait until we can go back inside. I have always wanted one of these!

  13. I would use it all the time when I am out as I have from Raynaud’s disease of the circulation so suffer terribly from the cold.

  14. When am away in my motor home as its cold on those early mornings and late evening when out and about. Also when am going too and from work everyday

  15. I’d use it daily as I suffer from Fibromyalgia which makes my hands hurt every day and heat sometimes helps ease the pain

  16. Well if I had a power outage I would use it then, otherwise I would give this to my friend, Kevin who is a hunter and would need this more than me.

  17. I will use it every day while I’m out in the field working in the cold, wet weather of north wales – I’m an archaeologist, and this would be great prize!

  18. As I tend to walk most places, there wouldn’t be a single where or when … especially at this time of year 🙂

  19. All day every day!!
I work in a milkshake/ Ice cream bar which gets ridiculously cold, I also go for a lot of nature walks, regardless of the weather, this would be perfect for then! especially having a little boy with us 🙂

  20. This is brilliant! I would love to win this for my mum, she really feels the cold. She would use it when she walks the dog, and all those weekends she sits in cold halls on my behalf having driven me round the country – she’s a star 🙂

  21. I am hoping to be well enough for my husband to take me to the German Christmas market in Birmingham; however it gets extremely cold sitting in the wheelchair as you aren’t the one doing the exercise. I would use it pretty much whenever I get out, as I am always in the ‘chair.

  22. I’d use it when out walking the dog. I feel the cold very easily so always need to be wrapped up warm – even then I’m usually still cold! This would be perfect to take the edge off. 🙂

  23. Every Friday I volunteer at our local urban farm. I work in the stables, which involves mucking out, grooming, poo-picking the paddock, skipping out the stalls throughout the day, sweeping the yard and taking what seem like endless wheelbarrows full of manure out to the muck heap. When the weather is chilly my hands really feel the cold, but for most of the work gloves aren’t really practical, so having a hand warmer would be really useful. If I’m lucky enough to win I’ll have to keep stum about it though, otherwise my OH will steal it for playing golf!
