Scottish Whisky Review
We were sent 3 bottles of Whisky to review.
First we tried
Highland Park – It has a really soft taste, with cinnamon, vanilla and honey with the after smokey taste. Lovely drink and I did enjoy this by adding a couple of ice cubes in to give it a refreshing cool taste. Highland Park can be purchased from Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Co-op (RRP £35.12). www.highlandpark.co.uk
Then we tried
Ardmore – Very flavourful. I’d say medium peat, medium smoke. I did add another ice cube in after trying it neat. Gave it 5 minutes and sipped again, I found that they were enjoyable either way. I usually prefer lighter scotches but this has grabbed me. Smooth enough that I didn’t realize it was higher proof. Ardmore can be purchased from Tesco and Morrisons (RRP £29.99). www.ardmorewhisky.com
last but definitely not least is,
Macallan Gold – A strong, smooth and creamy whisky I enjoyed, but found it was much better if I did half whisky and half water, it has a slightly sweet taste. I believe it to be an acquired taste as Daddy J wasn’t to keen where as I really enjoyed this. The Macallan Gold can be purchased from Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons (RRP £38.95). www.themacallan.com
We really enjoyed reviewing the above whiskies & think they would make an excellent present for someone whether it be for Christmas, birthday, special day or just as a I Love You or Thank You, suitable for a whisky connoisseur or a newcomer.
