Savisto Popcorn Maker Review
I’ve always wanted a popcorn maker, as I love popcorn. So when Savisto asked me if I would be interesting in reviewing one I jumped at the chance.
I was so excited when the machine arrived I couldn’t wait to take it out of it’s box. It’s in a vintage 50’s style, that I love. Metallic red with white accents, which is so me!
Using the Machine.
I was ready to start making popcorn. The instruction that come in the little booklet are very clear about what you do to make the perfect popcorn. The red lid becomes measuring cup for your corn kernels, you fill it half full for one serving, 80g or less.
Pour this in to the heating chamber & replace the lid on top. Put a bowl or one of the six free popcorn cartons underneath the spout, switch on the machine & with in two minutes, thanks to the hot air in the heating chamber, your popcorn will be ready to eat.
The corn kernels spin round in the heating chamber until popping then they shoot out of the spout and in to your carton. Be careful as the appliance gets very hot, I wouldn’t advise letting children do this.
One thing that I would like to add is to make sure you switch the machine off as soon as all the popcorn has popped if you don’t it may end up slightly singed popcorn, that’s what happened on my first attempt.
Good Points
One thing I hate about making popcorn is the kernels that for some reason don’t pop, I was pleasantly surprise to find only four kernels left un-popped out of a full 80g serving. I think this is acceptable.
Cleaning the machine is easy, just wait until the heating chamber cools then wipe with a damp cloth, the clear spout and the lid can be washed in warm soapy water.
Impression
If like me you are happy having your popcorn with out any flavouring – less calories – then you can eat straight away. Adding honey or some other topping would be lovely too. I was quite surprised not to have a leaflet with different recipes included, but it only takes a couple of minutes on the internet to find one. I found these on Amazon, it includes 2 bags x popcorn kernels and 6 x popcorn seasoning.
Overall I am very impressed with the Savisto Popcorn Maker and I can see it being used very regularly for evening snacks or when the grandchildren are visiting. I’m sure they will love eating their homemade popcorn.
I’d like to thank Savisto for sending me the machine to review. You can see this and all their other items on the Savisto website. What is your favourite popcorn topping?
Nanna Jane
This is a nice popper. I have an a popper like this, and I found you have to put in the full suggested amount to get the most popped kernels. Also, you need the freshest kernels, as when they dry out, there is less pressure in them to pop.
Ive got my FIRST popcorn maker FOR Christmas
Best present ever
Experiments with different flavours
Sure beats popping corn in the pan
I love mine Margaret, I eat popcorn regularly now I have my machine. It’s great when you want something to munch in an evening and so inexpensive. Great for if friends come around for the evening to watch a film to they are always fascinated by it and a few have gone on to buy their own. x
