National Dog Day

National Dog Day

So today is National Dog Day.

We are a nation of dog lovers, so today this seems appropriate to have a National dog day.  Although at the moment only two members of Family Clan have dogs, Daddy A & daughter M.

A 2007 survey by the University of Bristol found that 26% of UK households owned cats & 31% owned dogs. Of course dogs like humans come in all shapes & sizes from the smallest dog in the World according to the Guinness Book of Records  is a female Chihuahua called Miracle Milly, who measured 9.65 cm (3.8 in) tall on 21 February 2013 and is owned by Vanesa Semler of Dorado, Puerto Rico.

Zeus weighs 155 pounds & eats around 12 cups of food a day. That’s equivalent to one 30-pound bag of food.

  1. Ahhhh We have a tiny chihuahua too – she is 9 months and weight a tiny 1 1/2 lbs! She is so energetic though and will walk for miles on her leash every day! I grew up with dogs and would never be without one!

  2. Been out walking and I’ve just seen a massive dog
Think his owner was definately struggling to keep hold of him

  3. ours definitely aren’t breaking any records. we have a pomchi who is 10 pounds, but definitely not that tiny. we also have an american eskimo who is about 20 pounds. they are so amazing, and always make me laugh
