Pukaca Creative Paper Fun from Loubilou

Pukaca Space Review Family Clan Blog

We looked at the Loubilou website and wrote down all the toys and games he liked, it was a very long list to start off with, but we finally settled on a space theme as Jake loves looking at the stars and talking about what he can see and let’s his imagination flow.

We have received a space theme paper toy to review by Pukaca from the lovely people at Loubilou. This design is called ‘Space Paper Toy’ aimed at age 7+ due to lots of cutting and gluing at accuracy.  There are some simpler designs for younger children.

Pukaca Space Review Family Clan Blog

Jake decided we had to cut out the spacemen for our Space Paper Toy first. So he cut around the cutting lines of the space men and we then bent the folds which is shown as a ‘- – – ‘, dotted line, which guides you where to bend so that the space man can stand up on the space scene. We then started to build the space car, bending and gluing to make a rectangle shape for the body.  Jake cut out the wheels and stuck them on to the car each one was labelled on the card for the Front or Back wheels. Giveaway: Soreen Scream Lunchbox Loaves

Soreen Lunchbox Loaves Review

We received two packets of  Soreen ‘Scream’ lunchbox Loaves to review. We all know of Soreen’s Malt Loaf, the tasty loaf cake that makes a perfect afternoon treat with a cup of tea or coffee, depending what mood I am in, before Getting Grace up & ready to collect Jake from school.

Soreen Scream Family Clan Blog

Soreen Lunchbox LoavesThe first one which we tried was Toffee Apple. Green packaging which clearly shows which flavour you were going to get and a little picture of a toffee apple but the apple in the shape of a pumpkin to give the Halloween effect. The whole packaging is spooky themed with the black cat, bats, silhouetted trees to give you the great Halloween effect. They are in the shape of a little loaves of bread, you can smell the toffee and in the first bite you can taste the added toffee pieces all the way through until you swallow. We think that they are a great tasting loaf and with 5 in a pack they will last all the working week or just a tasty treat at home with a cuppa!Soreen Scream 5 Family Clan Blog

The second one that we reviewed was the Chocolate & Blood Orange. Orange packaging which instantly you know is Orange flavoured. Once again Halloween features upon the packaging with Haunted house, bats, Dracula and a graveyard. Appeals for kids and adults alike. With each loaf individually wrapped the are great to keep in lunchboxes. Unwrapping the loaf it smells so nice of the orange and chocolate, chewing the first bite is lovely and can taste the orange and the chocolate chips with each bite.

They are both very nice!  Mummy H preferred the Chocolate and Blood Orange where are Daddy J preferred the Toffee Apple. They will appeal to all the family & make a perfect addition to any Trick or Treat bag.

Chewits Sweets Giveaway

Chewits Sweets Giveaway

We were sent 3 packs of CHEWITS to review, they are all from a Halloween range aiming their range at children for the spooky day.  I let Jake choose which pack to try first, he chose to try ‘Chewits Chewmix’

Chewits Chewmix

On the front of the packet it has a dragon covered in bandages to make it look like a mummy, along with spooky bats and trees and full moon. We opened the packet, looking for flavours to choose, which we like and noticed that they all have the same colour wrappers, so it luck of the draw what you get!

Chewits

There are Strawberry, Blackcurrant and Fruit Salad I liked this idea of all being wrapped the same as it means no fighting over which ones you get, as having my two children, they always want the same and want which each other has! Each sweet is wrapped in a white Chewits wrapper, with the dragon on. You get a lovely flavour and not over powering just as a nice treat, they aren’t too hard or to soft, so nice to know I’m giving my 2 year old something she can chew on and then swallow instead of chewing on a sweet for ages and being scared she will choke. They went down really well and were my favourite of the lot. They are available to buy from ASDA, Tesco and other good retailers for RRP of £1.29, I think it is a good price for what you get and for the variety.

Chewits

We then tried the ‘CHEWITS EXTREME CHEWMIX’ There is 2 different flavours in this packet you have a choice of Sour Apple or Tutti Frutti. On the front of the packet we are presented with a pumpkin, dragon and haunted house with bats flying around. Upon taking them out the packet you realise that they are slightly larger than the normal size Chewit sweets you would expect.

Chewits

First we tried the pink one which is Tutti Fuitti flavoured, it has a fruity sour taste and you get hits of sour all the way through until the sweet is finished! Where normal sweets would lose their flavour to the consumer after a little while, this one lasts all the way through! Then we tried the Sour Apple. You really get the fresh ‘biting into an apple taste’ but in a chew toffee version instead, once again a strong sour lasting flavour but they are really enjoyable. The sour apple was Jake’s favourite flavour, whereas Grace went for her second pink Tutti Frutti, but that maybe because she loves pink!  These are available to buy from ASDA, Tesco and other good retailers for RRP of £1.29, which I think is a good price especially for the explosive tastes.

Chewits

The last bag we tried was Chewits Vampire Fangs Presented with the dragon wearing a cape to be like Dracula with haunted house and flying bats all over the packet.  These are “fangtastic” flavour jelly sweets’.

Chewits

ChewitsThey are in the shape of vampire teeth with fangs, instantly Jake loved these and had one at the top and one at the bottom attempting a vampire mouth, he tried! He enjoyed these and went back for extras. They are fun for children and they will definitely be enjoyed by children of all ages at Halloween and no doubt they will try and do the same as Jake did by attempting to be a little vampire themselves as well! These will be great for giving out to children at Halloween or just to have in the house for a house party! They are available to buy from Tesco and other good retailers from the price of £1.29.

Chewits have given us the opportunity to hold a giveaway for 1 lucky winner to win a Chewits selection box, a selection of Chewits Stickpacks and bags.

Belgian Chocolate Review from Serenata Flowers

Belgian Chocolate Review from Serenata Flowers

Serenata Hampers Luxury Belgian Chocolates Family Clan Blog 5

Well what can I say, a large box of Belgian chocolate from Serenata Flowers, was delivered just the other day and we were short of someone to try them out so I was volunteered, (there’s no justice) so I undertook the hardest task of having to taste and eat Belgian chocolate! They are from Serenata Flowers & cost only £35.99, they really would make a great present. I recommend them.
Serenata Hampers Luxury Belgian Chocolates Family Clan Blog 1

They come in a lovely mint blue & white striped Serenata Hampers box, which opens to show ta black box with a pretty white ribbon, bow & card tied on the corner. Just opening the box is a delight with the lovely ribbon & bow, then it hit me, the smell I mean ‘oh what a smell!’ Intensive rich aroma of chocolate with hints of the delights to come.

Serenata Hampers Luxury Belgian Chocolates Family Clan Blog 7

Serenata Hampers Luxury Belgian Chocolates Family Clan Blog 11The next task was to taste the chocolate that was made harder by the far, that there was no menu slip inside or on the box as to what was inside the chocolates ‘pot luck’, It was a bit of a mystery tour, but a nice tour as the chocolates were scrumptious, truly scrumptious to coin a phrase and very rich.

Serenata Hampers Luxury Belgian Chocolates Family Clan Blog 10

Anyway I tasted every individual one (2 or 3 in one sitting) over the week ‘they last longer that way’ 😉 I would highly recommend these Belgian chocolates as they are great for a treat. Not being a chocoholic like Nanna Jane, I can’t swear they are the best chocolates out there but oh boy they must be close.

The brilliant bit of news is that the lovely people at Serenata Flowers have been kind enough to offer one of you lucky readers a chance to win a box of Belgian chocolates of your own. Serenata Flowers have a wide range of gifts from flowers to balloons & teddy bears.

Spatone Liquid Iron Review

SpaTone   ”Your daily liquid iron & vitamin C supplement”

Spa Tone

I was sent a weeks supply of SpaTone liquid iron supplement to review. It was “delicious apple taste with vitamin C” just as it says on the sachet.

Family Clan Blog Spa Tone 2

I was very wary using this product as I have never had supplement products before, but thought I might as well give it ago. I emptied the sachet of liquid into a glass; you could easily just cut the corner off and drink it from there.

I have tried it for the week. I was not to sure what to expect, but as it is full of natural ingredients 100% natural iron rich water, apple concentrate, 100% Natural-source, vitamin C. I thought it wouldn’t do me any harm. I am not a fan of things with man-made chemicals in them.

Spatone Iron is a natural iron-rich mineral water from Snowdonia, Wales that is scientifically shown to help maintain healthy iron levels whilst being extra gentle on the stomach.

Family Clan Blog Spa Tone 3I try to eat a healthy balanced diet, with lots of fruit and vegetables, but a little extra couldn’t hurt.

I don’t know if it was down to the SpaTone or not, but I managed to sort and rearrange the children’s bedroom and under the stairs, must have definitely give me a bit of what I needed!

Generally, women have higher iron requirements than men due to extra demands caused by blood loss during menstruation or pregnancy. In fact of all the minerals, iron is the only one where women’s requirements are greater than men’s. It’s not surprising therefore that many women are found to be low in iron, in particular vegetarians and women who exercise regularly, e.g. female runners.

Latest figures from the Department of Health1 show that as many as 91% of women aged 16-64 may not get their recommended daily amount (RDA) of iron from their diets.

You can even use SpaTone when you are pregnant, it would be great for that time when you just feel lethargic & tired.

Pana Chocolate Review

Pana Chocolate Review

Family Clan Blog Pana Chocolate 1

I don’t buy dark chocolate as I prefer a good galaxy or dairy milk bar, but I was given a Fig & Wild Orange to try by Pana Chocolate.

Pana Chocolate has a minimum of 70% cacao, they are organic, with no dairy or soy included & also gluten free. There is also no refined sugar & has a low Gi (Glycaemic Index), it’s suitable for vegans too & to top it all it is handmade in Melbourne Australia

Family Clan Blog Pana Chocolate 2

I have never tried their brand before, to my astonishment, it tastes rather good. It is nice & chewy from the fig & not bitter at all, unlike some dark chocolate I have had in the past.  The bar has six blocks; I found eating one or two plenty enough for one sitting, unlike Nanna Jane who no doubt would have the lot if I let her.

Family Clan Blog Pana Chocolate 3 (1)

The Fig & Wild Orange has cacao solids 70% min (cacao butter & cacao powder), coconut nectar, coconut oil, carob, figs (14%), cinnamon, wild orange essential oil 1%, Himalayan crystal salt.

So I give Pana Chocolate in fig & orange a big thumbs up.

Pana Chocolate is also available in an assortment of 9 flavours including: Cinnamon, Coconut & Goji, Eighty, Fig & Wild Orange, Mint, Nuts, Orange, Raw Cacao, Sour Cherry.

You can purchase from Amazon
